Finding Your Inner Peace

On my journey one of the most powerful tools I have acquired is the ability to meditate and become still; to find my own inner quietness and space from everyday life.

I often hear people say "I can't meditate - I can't stop my mind chattering". To be honest meditation is not about stopping the mind throwing in thoughts at you and you trying not to have them, as especially when you first begin trying, it can be difficult to do that anyhow. No, its actually just putting your focused attention somewhere like on your breath, and allowing the mind chatter to just come and go and pass like clouds floating by, without you giving the images and words importance or latching on and giving them a story that you follow through on.

What you find as you keep refocusing your attention to your breath, is that the space between the thoughts and mind chatter increases, until in the spaces you "just are" and in that you are just "being".

In that moment you may begin to feel as if you exist without nothing more than your breath required. It can be very freeing, liberating and healing. But again this is just one way, one path, and perhaps just my own experience, and your experience may be totally different.

But meditation can be a powerful and healing tool, which can help you get clarity from your worries and issues as you become the observer more of your experiences… which can leave you feeling liberated from the attachments that can consume your everyday life, and you have yet another tool to handle any situation as it arises it is hoped with more clarity and calm.

You can also try to meditate by focusing on a flickering candle, or take a walking meditation whereby every step you take you notice how it feels, what the ground is like beneath your feet, and how the elements feel against your skin for example, and just be very much in the here and now, in the "present moment" and let your attention be on that and not on what you have to do, or what happened last week, or where you want to go on the weekend etc… just allow the present moment to be the most important thing in that time/space reality.  I also know people who go jogging, and for them this is also a form meditating - its just putting your focused attention on the present moment and on what you are doing and not letting the mind chatter win over.

When you have booked a session with me, I recommend that you try and be still before making that call, and send a prayer out to receive what is required on your current situation, so that you are open to receiving loving guidance.

Wishing you peace and love
